The EDS Clinic Expands to Alabama

The EDS Clinic is excited to announce our expansion to Alabama! Our commitment to providing expert, compassionate care for individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), hypermobility disorders, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and related conditions continues to grow. With this expansion, we are now able to serve patients across the entire state, including major metro areas such as Birmingham, Montgomery, Huntsville, Mobile, and Tuscaloosa, as well as those in rural and underserved regions.

We are proud to welcome Dr. Sujana Reddy, DO, as our lead provider in Alabama, alongside Dr. Jim Harris, MD, who serves as our Medical Director and provides expert guidance and care across multiple states.

Meet Our Alabama Providers

Dr. Sujana Reddy, DO – Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Sujana Reddy is a dedicated and compassionate physician whose personal health journey has profoundly shaped her approach to medicine. Diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome at the age of 28, Dr. Reddy understands firsthand the challenges of living with a chronic illness. Her battle with the long-term effects of COVID-19 further deepened her insight into complex chronic conditions, reinforcing her commitment to patient advocacy and empowerment.

Dr. Reddy specializes in the diagnosis and management of POTS, EDS, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), and MCAS. Her patient-centered approach ensures that individuals receive comprehensive and empathetic care tailored to their unique needs.

Dr. Reddy earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2021. In addition to her medical practice, she is actively involved in community service and serves on the board of Awareness For Potsies, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and support for individuals with POTS. Her work has been featured in National Geographic, Science, and Women's Health Magazine.

“I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome at the age of 28. If it wasn’t for my medical background, but more importantly my persistence that something was wrong with my body, I wouldn’t have this diagnosis. I’m a long-COVID patient, and this virus has made my underlying condition more debilitating. My health journey has made me a better doctor because it opened my eyes to a different realm of chronic illness that is not taught in medical school or residency.” – Dr. Reddy

Dr. James Harris, MD – Medical Director

Dr. Jim Harris has spent decades advancing the understanding and treatment of complex conditions like EDS, MCAS, and POTS. His journey began with a focus on Cystic Fibrosis and later expanded to allergic and immunological conditions, leading him to specialize in Mast Cell Activation Disease (MCAD) and its co-occurring conditions.

Dr. Harris has treated thousands of patients and has spoken at international conferences, including those hosted by Dysautonomia International and The Ehlers-Danlos Society. He provides care for patients in multiple states, including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Texas.
