The EDS Clinic is revolutionizing care with a digital clinic model that provides easy, convenient access to an integrated and multidisciplinary care team that takes a holistic approach to diagnosing, managing and treating Ehler Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
We take time to get to know each patient, develop a personalized, whole-person care plan that includes identification of symptom triggers and prescription of evidence-based interventions, including medications, dietary changes, and mental health support. Our care is delivered virtually through secure messaging and telehealth visits. We are seeking a provider to serve as the clinical lead for our patients. As a core member of the clinical team, you will have access to ongoing training and support from a focused team (Physicians, Researchers, Care Coordinators, etc.) to help you develop a expertise with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Gastroparesis, and other digestive health conditions (IBD, IBS, GERD, SIBO, etc).
What you’ll do
The Licensed Medical Provider, with support from a team of medical advisors, is responsible for providing EDS to teenagers and adults via a tele-medicine platform. The Licensed Medical Provider functions as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Care Delivery: Establish and maintain strong patient relationships, providing routine and urgent gastrointestinal care. Utilize your expertise to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for various EDS related conditions GI conditions, with a focus on MCAS, and POTS via telemedicine platforms, such as video visits and chat messaging. Adhere to clinical protocols, including the 2017 EDS Consensus Criteria (link) and the 2020 MCAS Consensus 2 criteria guidelines (Diagnosis of mast cell activation syndrome: a global "consensus-2") guidelines to ensure high-quality and evidence-based care.
- Integrated Care Management: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to implement treatment plans and ensure coordinated care for patients. Work closely with the care coordination team and advisor physicians to foster a collaborative approach provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
- Growth & Professional Development: Demonstrate a willingness to pursue cross-licensure opportunities and continuously maintain good standing with all relevant licenses and certifications. Actively engage in professional training and development activities to expand your knowledge base and stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of EDS, MCAS, and PoTS care.
Who You Are
- Current licensure as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Doctor of Medicine; Or licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree, Post Masters’ Certificate, or Doctorate in Nursing
- CRNP and APRNs, should have current certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency as an Adult, or Family Nurse Practitioner.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience performing consultative services in the practice of family medicine in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to work alongside and communicate effectively with other care providers (e.g., Physician, Psychologist, Health Coach, Registered Dietitian)
- Comfortable with or willing to learn common administrative technologies (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Office, or equivalent), charting electronically, experience with telehealth platforms preferred
